"Overall
the service was very good." Stephen Child, National Strategic Fleet Manager
Reliance Petroleum.
Reliance
Petroleum, Australia’s largest BP distributor, serving customers from the
industrial, mining, transport and retail sectors, were using a system developed
specifically for the company. A standalone system unable to communicate with
other applications, it limited service forecasting and reporting and could not
support the growth of the business.
After
reviewing several systems AusFleet was chosen as the software of choice.
In March, Reliance Petroleum went live. We recently spoke to Stephen Child,
National Strategic Fleet Manager about the experience with the deployment
process.
“AusFleet was the only product that could
deliver most of our requirements as an off the shelf product, with only minor
changes required to provide the complete package. It was also a cost effective
package to implement”.
“Deployment was not a difficult process.
We did have some delays but that was due to some minor development that was
required to give us exactly what we needed”.
Reducing downtime is important for Reliance as they operate bulk tankers
nationally. As a result of this, their fleet history was imported for accurate
scheduling and auditing purposes. Throughout the deployment, AusFleet Account
Manager, Carlos de la Peña worked closely with the fleet team to ensure the
transition was as smooth as possible, including 5 days onsite training.
"Carlos and the team were available to
work through issues as we deployed the system. They were quick to respond when
minor glitches arose, often this was because we were still understanding how to
get the best out of the system. Overall the service was very good.”
Stephen also provided suggestions for future clients.
“Perhaps the only thing we would have
changed is to allow a little more time for the data load and test. While the
system is easy to use, it is important to ensure a strong focus on training
employees that will use the system, not only prior to use, but on the job
training in the initial week when it goes live.
Also ensure your latest data is loaded
into the test environment as this allows you to practice with real data, before
committing in the production environment.“
